Ukrainian budget operator SkyUp is to serve Tel Aviv direct from two domestic cities.

The carrier on 25 November opened a twice-weekly operation between Lviv and the Israel city.

Twice-weekly Tel Aviv flights from Zaporizhia will commence on 5 December, says SkyUp.

Travellers from could previously fly both Ukrainian cities to Israel, with a layover at Kiev Borispol airport, on El Al or Ukraine International Airlines.

SkyUp says it now operates 32 regular and 15 charter services, and that the scheduled flights’ share already exceeding 60%. In the 16-month period that followed launch of operations in June 2018, the carrier transported 1.57 million people.

To support further growth, it intends to add a second Boeing 737-900ER to its fleet by year-end. It operates six 737-800s and a pair of 737-700s.
