EAJC General Council
The General Council (GC) coordinates the activity of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress.
One representative from each of the EAJC constitutors is elected into the GC, preferably presidents of vice-presidents of organizations that represent the Jewish community of a given country.
Constitutors that represent Kazakhstan, Russia, Ukraine, and Australia may, in concordance with the Presidium, have more representatives in the GC. Other constitutors of the Congress may be given more representatives by a decision of the Presidium.
GC meetings are held at least once a year.
Representatives of the WJC have the right to attend GC meetings. Other Jewish organizations have this right at the discretion of the GC.
Members of the Presidium and chairmen of commissions have the right to attend GC meetings.
The GC is led by the GC Chairman, and in his absence by one of his deputies. The number of deputies is determined by the chairman in concordance with the Congress President. The GC Chairman is accountable to the President of the EAJC Congress, and is a member of the Congress Presidium.
General Council decisions are adopted by a simple majority of votes if there is a quorum (50 % + 1).
The GC creates Commissions, which are charged with developing separate directions of Congress activities. The Commissions develop in detail programs approved by the GC.
The Commissions are led by Chairmen, who are appointed by the GC.
