                  Synagogue Vandalized in Slovenia

The building of one of the oldest European synagogues in the town of Maribor, Slovenia has been vandalized, although there is no Jewish population in the city, reports the Agency of Jewish News.
Built in the Middle Ages, in early XV century, the Maribor synagogue has long ceased its existence as a Jewish religious centre. Currently, a cultural centre does function in the building, but it has no connection to Judaism.
In the beginning of the week the citizens found graffiti "Death to Jews," "Juden Raus" and "Gaza" on the walls of the historical synagogue.
Modern vandals are more then 50 years late with these slogans - the Nazis destroyed the entire Jewish population of the region during the Holocaust.
Local police has begun the investigation of the crime.
