The JDC charity foundation supported the idea of Brest Jewish community on creating a museum of the city Jewry.
"At the recent Coordination Council of the Union of Belarusian Jewish Public Associations and Communities, which took place on March 29 in Vitebsk, the JDC representative supported the idea of Brest Jews to create a museum of the Brest Jewish community,", said the Jewish News Agency Chairman of the Jewish community association "Brisk" Boris Bruk.
The Jewish Distribution Committee even allocated a certain sum of money for the creation of the future museum.
As reported by the AJN, a Council was established in early 2009, and it has been closely involved in the collection and accumulation of material on the life of the local Jewish community.
According to B. Bruk, relatives of the Jewish immigrants from Brest have already responded to the call of the organizers of the museum and began to send old photos.
The collection of materials is in progress, so members of the Jewish community of Brest will be grateful to all who will assist them in collecting materials for the museum.
