02.04.2009
Before the upcoming holiday of Pesach, the veterans of Dnepropetrovsk community were presented with pants from the famous designer and couturier Mikhail Voronin. He wished the veterans a merry and kosher holiday.
The tradition of the Jews to wear special clothing during the feast of Pesach, clothing that is not worn in the other days of the year, is widely known and even reflected in literature. "Can you see me in these pants?" Says the famous Funt, hailed by Ilf and Petrov. "These are Pesach pants. I used to put them on only on Pesach..."
Now the elderly Jews of Dnepropetrovsk can wear special pants for the holiday that are made by the well-known craftsman, the legislator of male fashion.
Alexander Fridkis, who manages the affairs of the Jewish religious community of Dnepropetrovsk, presenting the Pesach gift to the elderly, said: "It is difficult to even find the right words of thanks to those who care for the needy elderly so much. This gift was unexpected but very pleasant."
