The governor of Dnepropetrovsk region presented the book “Armenians of Dnepropetrovsk region: history and present day” on the meeting of the regional Armenian culture society.
The book was published in the series about national and cultural societies of the region – Jews, Azerbaijani and Armenians- initiated by the governor for the region’s 80th anniversary.
In his speech the governor has singled out three Armenians who brought fame on Dnepropetrovsk- academician Vsevolod Lazarian, Gurgen Karapetian- orchestra conductor and Rodion Nahapetov- film actor.
Then Mr. Vilkul gave a copy of the book to MP Garegin Arutiunov who thanked the governor for his attention to national issues.
The ceremony was followed with a concert of dances and songs.
