Number of the representative of the Jewish people in the world is decreasing.

With the international scientific conference to begin shortly in Jerusalem, Jewish University professor Sergio de la Pergola has published the data verifying the fact the number of the representatives of the Jewish people in the world is decreasing; the previous year decrease is 3%. Now, there are 12,900,000 Jews living in the world.
Jerusalem conference will be dedicated to the problems of demography in Israel as well as to the problems of Jewish people around the world. Professor Sergio de la Pergola the scientific symposium leader explains the decrease in the Jewish population with the process of assimilation and growing anti-Semitism forcing people to conceal their true Jewish background.
The objective of the conference is the rapprochement between the scientific and demographic researches and the developing of practical techniques to influence the situation in the world and in Israel, in particular. Leading specialists in the field of Jewish demography will participate in the discussions. The US Ambassador Dennis Ross has been invited to participate as a guest.
