Terror in West Bank: Two IDF soldiers stabbed by Palestinian

                  08.04.2015, Israel

Two Israeli soldiers were stabbed and injured by a Palestinian knife-wielding attacker on Route 60 in Samaria on Wednesday morning.
One is in serious condition and the second sustained light injuries.
The terrorist has been shot dead by security forces.
According to Magen David Adom paramedics, the injured troops were found with stab wounds near the settlement of Ma'ale Levona, which is near the Palestinian village of Sinjil, in the northern West Bank.
Paramedics administered medical treatment and evacuated a 20-year-old soldier in serious condition. He sustained a stab wound to his torso, and is unconscious, paramedics added. The soldier has been placed on a medical ventilator, and was rushed to the Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem.
The second soldier was stabbed in the back, but the wounds are not deep, and he is in good condition, paramedics added. He too has been taken to Shaare Zedek hospital.
The soldiers were from the Home Front Command's Tavor Battalion, which was securing roads in the area as part of security measures for the vacation period.
Security sources have assessed that the attacker acted alone and was not part of a terrorist organization.
The incident comes days after an IDF soldier suffered light stab wounds at a checkpoint in the northern West Bank.
In that attack, last week, near Oranit, the assailant, a Palestinian, was immediately apprehended.
Magen David Adom paramedics treated the soldier, 22, at the scene of the incident, before evacuating him to hospital. The soldier sustained stab wounds to the head and shoulder, but is in good condition.
The attack occurred as the soldier and his unit challenged one of six Palestinians attempting to cross into Israel illegally. The soldier tackled the attacker to the ground and apprehended him, despite the injuries.
Magen David Adom paramedic Hagai Bartov arrived on the scene of the stabbing, and evacuated the 20-year-old.
“During rapid evacuation to hospital, we gave him life-saving treatment that included stopping the bleeding, anesthetizing, and putting him on a ventilator," Bartov said.
