                  A Chabad rabbi who was the victim of an anti-Semitic attack six months ago in Ukraine has died in Jerusalem as the result of injuries , the Chabad.org site announced. He was 64-yar-old.

                  Rabbi Menachem Mendel Deitsch was attacked and beaten at the central train station in the Ukrainian city of Zhitomir after spending Rosh Hashanah in Haditch, the resting place of Rabbi Schneur Zalman of Liadi, founder of Chabad-Lubavitch.

                  He was discovered the next morning and was admitted to the intensive-care unit at a regional hospital, where he was diagnosed with multiple head injuries and brain trauma. He was robbed of his cell phone and money and beaten at the train station, and was not discovered until hours later, suffering from multiple head injuries and brain trauma.

                  He was ater airlifted to Israel and threated at the Tel Hashomer hospital in Ramat Gan.

                  Rabbi Mendel Deitsch served as a Chabad-Lubavitch emissary in France and Israel.
