Prominent Jewish philanthropists and business leaders from all over the world came to see the revival of Russian Jewry in Moscow during the International Leadership Reunion conference that took place in Russia’s capital last month.

Organized annually by the Keren Hayesod- United Israel Appeal, the conference aims to promote peaceful cohabitation of nations through meetings that address issues in politics, business, economics, and art in relation to Jewish life.

This year’s conference took place in Moscow, was partly hosted by the FJC and the Chief Rabbi of Russia Berel Lazar. As part of the program, the participants toured the city’s Jewish charitable and educational institutions, personally witnessing the growth and the revival of the community. They visited FJC’s Moscow Children’s home, the Machon Chamesh Jewish Institute, and the Shaarei Chesed humanitarian center. In each of the places, the delegation met with the local residents, learned about their everyday lives and made memories together.

“The Jewish community in Moscow has undergone a tremendous change in the last two decades and we are happy some of the world’s top Jewish leaders came to see the humanitarian and educational sides of the Jewish revival there,” said Mr. Daniel Gordon, FJC’s outreach coordinator.
